CTS-NIKI

i am fresh from finishing my placement procedures . i attended the CTS campus recruitment programme on JUNE THIRD ,2008.

I thought i could share with you all my experiences about the placement .

The first round was an aptitude round . This was divided into three sections

a) Quants

b)Verbal

c)Logical Reasoning

Quants :

this was the toughest portion of the paper . It had twenty five questions to be completed in 30 minutes .

It is not easy to complete  all the sums and hence make sure you stay focused and try to finish as many as possible . there were no negative markings in our paper however I cannot gurantee all C.T.S papers will be of same type .Hence i just solved as many as i could and marked the rest in random manner.

Verbal :

this can easily make or break your dreams .

If you are someone who is strong in English atleast  grammatically can use this exercise to score over their rivals .

It has 10 question on finding out the correct and incorrect sentences  from the given options .The remaining 15 questions are to answered as a reading comprehension exercise. Make sure you practice reading large paragraphs fast in order to solve these questions easily .

Logical Reasoning :

This section had 20 questions to be solved in as many minutes .

It mainly had ’Odd Man out’ questions using a variety of figures .  it also had 5 questions based on reasoning which can be done well if you think with common sense . On the whole the test was pretty much only if you have already prepared quite a bit for your aptitudes.

575 students from my college wrote the Aptitude Examination and 320 got through to the next round.I was one of them. All of us were then asked to attend interviews. I was thee first to be interviewed and it turned out to be for the better. My interviewer was very decent and genuine person . It was very easy to talk with him and hence i got through all tough sections of an interview easily . I was able to answer the questions on my area of interest and this settled the deal. I came out knowing I woudl most probably end up with the job.

I then heard from others  that they were questioned about current affairs and their views on contentious topics . Remember to always stay neutral in case the topic has lot of moral grey areas .Also some of the HR’s asked questions other than the area of interest that was mentioned in order to test the student’s overall ability.

Overall,I would like to say more than your technical knowledge or your aggregate , it is the confidence with which you handle the interview that makes CTS select you .When attending any interview for that matter always stay confident that you will crack the test .

CTS selected 202 students from my college and ended the day in a cake cutting ceremony.

So in the end, did i get the job?? Well that’s another story to blog about
